About
Over the years, the composition of the world population has changed drastically. It is not only expanding but also growing older, marked by increasing life expectancies. Therefore, preparing for population aging has become a priority for most countries, especially in South-East Asian countries like India, which have the largest and fastest-growing elderly population.
Ageing is a natural part of life, due to the advancements in medicine, technology, and social support systems, people are living longer than ever before. However, longevity alone is not enough, it is essential that the added years must be healthy, fulfilling, and dignified. With increasing longevity, brings a new set of challenges and opportunities with it. Therefore, the emphasis on Quality of Life (QoL) is critical.
This symposium brings together experts, researchers, and practitioners to discuss critical issues related to aging and longevity. It provides a platform for discussing cutting-edge research, practical applications, and policy developments. We aim to explore the multifaceted aspects of elderly longevity, including health, socio-economic factors, cultural diversities, technological advancements, and healthcare policies. We hope this two-day virtual symposium will stimulate thought-provoking discussions and dialogues to address critical aspects of aging and longevity that can improve the quality of life for the elderly population.
