These awards are tailored towards encouraging and supporting students and early-stage scientists in establishing their research activities within the broad categories of Aging, Longevity, and Quality of Life (QoL).

​The Early Career Research (ECR) Grant aims to provide research support to the young researchers who are in their early careers to pursue exciting and innovative research. Both student and Early Career Research grants will be awarded to multiple applicants.
​
Applicants are expected to present at the conference. All the applicants will be evaluated based on innovation and the expected impact on the society.

Student Memorial Award
Dr. Harsh Chaturvedi Memorial (HCM) Student award will be awarded to multiple students. Each award carries a maximum value of Rs. 10,000. The student can use the money as they see fit. Applicants will be notified via email once the results are announced.

Late Sri. Harsh Chaturvedi, PhD
Professor, IIT Guwahati
Dr. Harsh Chaturvedi Memorial (HCM) student award is established in loving memory of Dr. Harsh Chaturvedi, Assistant Professor at IIT Guwahati who passed away in November 2023. Dr. Harsh Chaturvedi was working in key research areas like Flexible Foldable Electronics, Energy Storage, Energy Prediction and Grid integration, Hybrid Nanomaterials for Green Energy applications and published in national and international scientific journals.
Dr Harsh Chaturvedi (1980-2023) graduated with a PhD from UNC Charlotte, NC, USA. He returned to India as a Ramanujam Fellow and continued his research at ISER Pune. He became a faculty member at IIT Guwahati, where he continued his research activities. Dr. Harsh Chaturvedi always cherished mentoring students and found ways to contribute to their success.
In his honour, we are conducting student competition. The winners will be announced at the LongevityAsia-24 symposium.
Early Career Research Grant (0-5 Years after PhD)
The Early Career Research (ECR) Grant aims to provide research support to the young researchers who are in their early career for pursuing exciting and innovative research. The Early Career Research grants will be awarded to multiple investigators. in frontier areas of ageing, longevity and Quality of Life (QoL) in India.
The ECR Grant covers purchasing lab equipment, consumables, instruments, travel grant to participate and present his/her research in an international scientific event (conference, seminar, workshop etc.) held in South-east Asian countries. The grant does not cover clinical trials or any animal experiments. Applicants will be notified via email once the results are announced. The support is provided on reimbursement basis as per actual expenditure incurred by the applicant within the guidelines of the scheme. Multiple grants will be awarded in distinctly different scientific areas. The grant covers a maximum of Rs 50,000 for each investigator.
For ECRG award

The applicant should be an Indian citizen.

The applicant must have completed PhD (not more than 5-years from the date of application)

The applicant must be engaged in R&D work as a postdoc/professor at a degree-granting institute in India.

If applying for the purpose of travel,
-
The applicant should have an invitation or confirmation as a speaker for presenting original scientific results in an international seminar or conference.

The invitation of a personal nature such as for carrying out post-doctoral work, informal training programs/courses, internship, etc. will not be eligible for support.

The applicant should not have received any funding in the past under this grant.

The applicant should be a presenter at LongevityAsia-24.
For Student award

The applicant should be an Indian citizen.

Applicant should be a current student pursuing MS/M.Phil/PhD at degree-granting institutes in India.

Applicant should follow all the guidelines of LongevityAsia-24 for submission

All the student presenters at the LongevityAsia-24 are considered for the awards.

Only the students who present at the conference are considered for the awards.
Guidelines
Selection & Mode of Application:

The selection will be based on the recommendations of an expert committee. If desired by the expert committee, the applicants may be called for personal discussion.

The committee will primarily weigh in on scientific innovation, scientific maturity, contribution towards societies in India, and the impact of the grant money on the execution of the proposed research activity

Applicants should apply with all the relevant documents in a single email.

The application material should be submitted directly to admin@longevityasia.org. Any other mode will not be considered.
Documents required for ECR Grant:

A copy of an official identity document such as an Aadhar card or Passport.

Biodata with a complete list of Scientific / Technical publications and Patents, if any including their citations.

Brief research proposal (5000 words) with the following details: project title, project summary, keywords, objectives, expected outcome of the proposal, expected publications, budget (research personnel, consumables, travel, equipment, contingency, overheads, etc.)

An endorsement letter duly signed and stamped by competent authority of the institute.

Details of financial support from other grants or awards.

For travel grant (in addition to the above):

Applicant should be the presenting author
-
A copy of a letter of acceptance of the presenting paper (oral/poster) by the organizers (for a travel grant related to the research).

A copy of the abstract and full paper with all details including the background of the study, objectives, materials and methods, results and discussions, and references with not more than 5000 words including names of all the authors, authors' affiliated institutions with full address and title of the abstract (for travel grant related to the research).

Detailed report on how the conference/seminar/workshop will help in your research.

Terms & Conditions of awards:

The Board reserves the right to terminate the grant at any stage if it is convinced that appropriate progress is not being made or the grant has not been utilized properly.

Applications beyond the deadline will not be accepted.
-
If any candidate found to have furnished incorrect/misleading information at any stage, his/her candidature will be canceled, and no reimbursement will be made. The candidate will also be debarred for availing support under this scheme.

The winners need to acknowledge the financial support in their publications, labs, departments, college, and personal websites.
For Travel Grant:
-
Travel grants should be used only for the purpose of attending the scientific event for which the grant has been approved.

Applicants should apply between 60-90 days in advance prior to the start date of the event.
-
The Applicant should submit the claim bills, and other necessary documents both online and offline within 30 days from the completion of the event.
